So as I sit here while I should be getting ready for work, I have a few quick thoughts.
- Oklahoma State plays Tennessee today in the NCAA Tournament. I'm so happy OSU was finally able to make the tournament again. It had been way too long. The draw against Tennessee is a tough one that is compounded by PItt in the 2nd round, but I actually like our matchup against Pitt... althought I would never pick that upset.
- Everyday I learn even more how much of a nerd I am. I am trying to create a basketball sim that predicts the outcome of each game in the NCAA Tournament. So far the basketball sim has done better than my bracket... and it did pick the correct Elite 8 in last years bracket(minus Davidson). But I still think about it and wonder why I even try, as we all know it is an impossible task... yet I still keep adding components to it. My Final 4 is Louisville, Missouri, Pitt, and UNC. I have Missouri and Pitt in the final game with Pitt winning. My simulation had Louisville, UConn, Oklahoma, and Duke.... so we will see how badly it fails.
- I thought this was interesting and true... the 12 seeds do have it best. I wanted to write a full post about the NCAA Tournament, but it never happened.
- I've been contemplating writting a post on earmarks and how they can be good or bad... and when they are appropriate and when they aren't. But, I have put that off. Maybe one day it will come.
- I have never liked any of the bailouts for many reasons. First, where does it stop? Second, the earmarks that come along with all these bailouts. Third, politicians should never be trusted.

We shouldn't elect politicians we don't trust. It's a fine distinction, but we all want our government which we pay for to perform certain services is a certain manner... so we have no choice but to trust them. But it goes way past a vote every 2, 4 or 6 years. We have to call our senators and expect their time and attention. We have to go to city council meetings and have ideas. We have to protest that which stinks. It takes time, which is a precious commodity to us all, but this is the price for a democracy that works. They work for us. We are their supervisors.
